Dr. Sharif Khalid

Dr Khalid is an Accounting and Finance academic at the University of Sheffield Management School, University of Sheffield, UK. His multidisciplinary research resonates around Corporate Governance, ESG and Social Responsibility practices approached from a critical Perspective. Within these areas of focus he has published high-quality outputs in Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) Journals that span Corporate Governance, Accounting and Finance, Management and Business Ethics.

Sharif has a particular interest in Africa, frontier, and emerging markets development when it comes to Sustainable Economic Development. In line with his broader research engagements are Accounting and Finance, Corporate Governance, International Tax Policy, Extractive sector governance, corporate and commercial law, international trade, political accountability, and sustainable development. Sharif has extensive experience in delivering Executive Education to Senior, Middle Level, and SME Managers and has delivered consultancy services in this regard. 

He is a qualified Mediator and sits on the British Accounting and Finance Association Special Interest Group on Corporate Governance. He also serves as an Associate Editor of Qualitative Research in Financial Markets and is a Senior Fellow of the High Education Academy, UK, as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

Sharif holds academic qualifications in Law, Population Studies, and Energy Management. He has also earned an MBA, MSc and PhD from the Universities of Sheffield, Oxford, and the Henley Business School respectively. Sharif is a Member of St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford. He occasionally contributes to public discourses within his areas expertise.
